Participants wanted – Understanding emotion and empathy in human-robot interaction

We are developing an emotion system for a social robot, which can be used in various settings (eg. healthcare). The study explores how to express emotion using prosody (e.g., pitch, tone and speed) in spoken language. It also determines how good a current system is at detecting sentiment (feelings/mood).

Benefits of the research include granting robots the ability to express emotion. This will help to develop robots that are more engaging and empathetic.

We are looking for anyone aged 16 years or older to complete one short (10min) anonymous online survey.
