Our very own Robot – The Autonomous Mobile Multipurpose Platform (AMMP) robot from MBIE funded project: Multipurpose Orchard Robotics was featured in an article as part of BBC’s Follow the Food series. This project, led by Professor Bruce MacDonald’s team at The University of Auckland was a four-year collaboration with the University of Waikato, Plant & Food Research and Robotics Plus. The pathway from research to real-world impact is often long-winded, however through this successful partnership, we demonstrate how strong investment in science can lead to valuable and fruitful benefits to New Zealand and primary industry stakeholders globally.
